FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. I only have 10-15 pounds to lose. What products would you recommend I take and how long will it take to lose the weight?
Losing 10-15 pounds generally takes 4-6 weeks. Of course, it all depends on your level of compliance to the program. One of our counselors will be happy to recommend certain products based on your individual needs.
2. I work the graveyard shift. Can I do your program and will it work the same as with day shift workers?
Yes, the program will work with any shift of work as long as there is compliance on your end. Your personal counselor will work out a typical week for you and explain to you how to take the dietary supplements, so that your resting metabolic rate occurs during your sleeping hours which will probably be during the daytime hours. We have many success stories with those individuals who work the night shift. There is absolutely no issues concerning this.
3. Will I have to cook differently for my family when I do this program?
The Healthy Performance program is a great program for every member of the family to follow. It is geared towards great health and is full of nutrients for every age group.
4. I hate swallowing pills. What can I do?
The Healthy Performance capsules can be opened and put into yogurt or applesauce of the protein shakes, for example. We have chewable tablets for several of our products, as well. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. We’ll help you find the best way for you. We do it all the time.
8. I travel for my job a lot. Would I be able to be successful on your program?
Our program is very travel-friendly. We have many snacks and powders (shakes) that can be packed very easily. We have packets of the dietary supplements already packaged for you so that you simply have to count how many days you will be gone and take them with you. You will be able to eat out at almost any restaurant, whether it be a fast-food or a sit-down restaurant and choose many items from their menus. Again, your Healthy Performance counselor will assist you in the selection of food choices in your travel plans.
5. I can’t exercise due to being in a wheelchair. However, I need to lose a great deal of weight because I don’t move at all. Would it be possible for me to lose weight without exercise?
Losing weight is definitely possible without movement. One of the key purposes of exercise is to build muscle. Muscle utilizes six times more calories than fat, making weight loss happen easier and faster. Although you may not be able to work out aerobically, perhaps you will be able to strength train with a device that we have at Healthy Performance called the StrengthMate. It is a 4-ounce device that is held in different ways and helps build resistance, which will help build muscle. If movement of any kind is not possible, yes, you will still be able to lose weight. We work around any situation and lack of movement is certainly one of them. Do not let lack of movement contribute to an unhealthy lifestyle. We will help you use what is in your control, not what isn’t in your control.
6. I’m on a limited budget. What are the bare necessities that I should buy in regards to dietary supplements?
All of the supplements are great and are necessary for most of us, according to our medical conditions, lifestyles, ages, and goals. Counselors will always work with you within your budget to accommodate your needs.
7. Is it okay to drink diet soda? I don’t think I can live without it.
As unreal as it may seem today, you can live without diet soda. That being said, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Habits take time to break, but they can be broken. Start drinking water in place of your diet soda every other can/bottle. That way it will be cut in half. Phosphorus in excess can interfere with proper calcium metabolism and phosphorus is the second most abundant mineral in the body, after calcium. It is part of all cells and is essential to bone strength. It is also an important element in energy production. Don’t make the mistake and think that soda takes the place of water. It doesn’t. And remember, moderation is always the key in life.
8. I love salt. What do I do short of using salt on everything?
Salt has to do with the flavor on our taste buds. The origin of sodium had to do with the preservation of foods before refrigeration. We became so used to the taste of salty foods that so many of us salt our foods without even tasting it first. Almost all foods contain some salt. Only 33% of our salt intake comes from the salt shaker; the remainder comes from processed foods, boxes, canned foods, and restaurants salt a lot. Again, salting is a habit and one that can be broken. Start by hiding the salt shaker and do not substitute. Begin using other spices that are salt-free and start experimenting with your taste. We only need between 500-800 mg. of salt on a daily basis. Instead, use oregano, marjoram, thyme, rosemary, basil, sage, pepper, nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon, olive oil, garlic, paprika, bay leaves, onion powder, parsley and many more.
9. I’m not a water drinker. Do I have to drink it and how much do I have to drink?
Water is extremely important to the body. Most of the time, we walk around in a state of dehydration, which means that our bodies cannot function at their peak performance. If you don’t drink any water, start with 8 ounces and build up to half of your body weight in ounces of water to all your body weight in ounces of water. You can flavor it with a citrus fruit like lemon, lime, or orange. But, the second you make the water tea or coffee, it no longer is water. The rule of thumb is if you don’t wash your clothes in it, it isn’t water. Water will help you lose weight faster as it carries waste products out of your body, digests food, dissolves nutrients and provides a medium in which a great metabolism occurs.
10. What foods are not permitted on your program?
No food is a bad food at Healthy Performance. It’s the amount of food/drink we consume and the frequency we eat/drink. Everything in moderation is the key, making lean proteins, vegetables, and fruits our staples.
11. What are good choices to eat at night?
Protein shakes are excellent as they fill you up and provide the body with protein while it is resting; thus, keeping the metabolism working. A glass of skim milk and a piece of fruit are also good options. Don’t ever be afraid of eating/drinking too much lean protein as long as you have no kidney issues.
12. I never eat breakfast. In fact, I feel I eat more all day long when I start my day with breakfast. Do I have to eat breakfast?
The answer to that question is a simple yes. If you’re starting out on a trip, do you fill your gas tank up or do you start with an empty tank? Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Load it with lots of protein, not with starches. Have eggs, egg beaters, protein shakes or protein bars. And whoever said that chicken and fish have to be lunch or dinner foods? They also can be eaten for breakfast like the Europeans and Asians do. Eat breakfast like a queen/king; lunch like a princess/prince and dinner like a pauper!

Absolutely. We specialize in taking care of Type 2 diabetics and hopefully, with a little time and commitment, you no longer will be a diabetic. We have a special supplement used precisely for diabetics, pre-diabetics and those whom diabetics run in the family.
15. Can teenagers be on the Healthy Performance program?
Absolutely. It’s a great time to start learning good eating habits and how to eat out with friends and not “appear” to be on a diet. Teenage years are so important and self-esteem and self-worth are so often based upon first impressions of appearance. The best way to parent is to give your child what they need, not always what they want. Our counselors will work hard with your teens. We can say and do things with them that you, the parent, could never get away with. Let us work with your teen.
16. What do waist measurements have to do with your health?
For women, waist measurements should be 35 inches or below. For men, waist measurements should be 40 inches or below. Most of the vital organs of the body are located in this area. If these organs are surrounded by excess fat, they cannot do their job effectively and efficiently and they have to overwork. An example of this is the liver. The number one increasing disease of the liver is fatty liver disease. The term speaks for itself.
